Dr. Rabbani participated in a meeting of WHO on health care technology for the low resource countries
Dr. K Siddique-e Rabbani, Professor and Chairperson, Department of Biomedical Physics & Technology was invited to attend a meeting of WHO entitled, “Barriers and opportunities for improved access to medical devices by technology transfer and local production” . The meeting was held in Geneva, Switzerland on 4-5 June, 2012. Prof Rabbani presented the outcome of the work in our department at Dhaka University in this regard together with our proposed model for dissemination of innovated technology to all Third World countries through local engineering manpower, a model which was appreciated by several participants. The report being prepared as an outcome of this meeting includes a case study of the Digital Electrocardiograph (ECG) equipment that we developed.
